Settler’s day in Cornersville Tn

June 18, 2007 at 6:00 pm (life)

I’m from the big whoppin town of Cornersville. Pop. 962. Cornersville was established back in 1807, so fitting as it was we just celebrated Settler’s Day. My wife and I had a pretty good time. It was small, but I guess that’s the way it goes when you have a small town on a limited budget.

One of the coolest things I learned about Cornersville is how we joined Marshall County from Giles County. In 1807, they had 16 white horse couples ride in from the north and 1 white horse couple ride in from the south. The 16 couple horse were symbolizing the 16 districts of Marshall County and the 1 white horse couple symbolized the district joining Marshall County. And as fitting as it was as well that Giles County is to the south of Marshall, so they came riding from their respective counties.

At Settler’s Day, they displayed a version of this for all of us to see. But it was just 2 horses. We got the picture.

After this we watched a parade and then we went down the street to watch My wife’s brother race in the out house races. Now, if you’ve never seen this before, it will blow your mind. When my wife told me about it, I just could not get in my head how you can take out houses and run them down the road, plus someone had to be sitting on the toilet as you raced. But let me supply a couple of pictures so you won’t be lost like last years easter egg like I was.

And then a friend of ours’ son had to get in on the pie eating contest. Heeeeeeeeeerre’s WES!

How Great is Our God part II

June 18, 2007 at 10:51 am (GOD)

Sunday June 17, 2007 was one of the best services I have ever experienced as a worship leader. One week agao I was blessed by God to be given the position of interim worship director at my church. So my first Sunday out of the shoots was Father’s day. How nerve wrecking is that?

I have had a nagging cough all week and I was sure it would hinder worship. So I prayed to God that He would take it away at least for worship service. I didn’t want anything to be allowed to hinder worship, so I prayed fervently. God saw fit to answer me and throughout the whole service I never felt one tickle in my throat. And worship was great.

Every Sunday, a few of the faithful gather for prayer before service and we pray for EVERYTHING. We lay hands on EVERYTHING. You name it, it’s prayed over in the church before service. So I prayed for these things also for my pastor’s wife who had been sick for the last week. I prayed for healing, and even though she wasn’t healed wholly, she was healed enough to attend service. Amazing He is.

Worship was so powerful that I cont’d to get testimonies hours after service was over that worship was continuing outside the church. That… is what worship is all about. I praise my savior and my God. How Great is HE?

Wow, that’s all I can say. She got thrown in jail and and then she got out to go home, now she’s back in jail. Wow!!!!! It’s all over town, it’s all over the internet, it’s all over the news on tv, on the radio, it’s everywhere. You can go anywhere you want and read up on it. Fox news, TMZ, Cnn, ABC, NBC, CBS. Just go. It’s there.

My feelings? Why is it that those who have money get special priviledges? I give props to the judge to send her back. But if it can change that quick for her to get out of jail and go home to house arrest and then back to jail in a day’s time, then it’s possible that it can change just as quick for her to get out of jail again and go home to house arrest. Maybe, just maybe this time, she’ll have to stay the whole time and she just might learn her lesson. Then again, maybe not. Who knows?

That’s my opinion, orta be yours!!!!

North American Union

June 6, 2007 at 9:01 pm (life)

I was listening to Michael DelGiorno this morning on 99.7 WTN. I like him. But his subject today was rather bothersome. Now I don’t want to get into politics, but sometimes I believe a voice needs to be heard even if it is in the wilderness.

Have you heard of the

North American Union,

(This example is a fake) the Amero, or

the North American Super Highway, nasco corridor .

What this is (is) their trying to unify North America into one nation. Why you think Bush doesn’t want to do anything about the illegal aliens? Exactly! He see this coming, and he’s trying to make way for it. Now I’m sure there’s more to it than this but…

Now, I don’t know enough about all this to throw out a good argument. I just wanted to make anyone who reads my blogs aware of what might become of our great nation. Illegal Immigration may be a thing of the past. Wait, I think it already is.

Also let me say I am not against anyone coming into this country and going through the right steps to become a citizen. But I am against illegal immigration. It’s illegal, I don’t care how you look at it. It’s against the law. And I’m not just pointing out the spanish speaking crowd. I mean ANYONE who is illegal!!!!!!

So I hope this sheds light on the subject for the three people that does read my blogs. Here ya go!!!!!
