It was 1990 when I met this guy who just looked like a perfectly normal guy in of the crowd. Little did I know how super this guy really was and still is. We started talking about how we both enjoyed magic and he was a big fan of  Pen and Teller. This guy taught me all I know about magic and that year I put on a magic show at my family’s Christmas party. From that moment, we learned music together and roller bladed together and just became really good friends through out high school. We played in two bands, D@in Br@m@ge and Teacher’s Pet.

After High School, like most friends, we went our separate way. He mostly traveled and went of to Minnesota I believe then on to California and I never left town till just recently, like a year ago. I kept in touch with him through his parents and would learn when he would come home so I could see him.

Yesterday, my Father went into the hospital in Nashville, Tn. and he hit me up on facebook to let me know he was gonna be in town and if there was anything he could do knowing my father was in the hospital. I told him I just wanted to see his face. That would be good enough for me.

He came by and picked me up at the hospital and we went and had lunch and spent some really good time together along with his girl friend and his mom. After lunch, we stopped by Cotten’s Music and picked up some guitars to rehash old times and show each other the music we had been working on. This guy can write some amazing music when he picks up a guitar. I just love his style. This guy is one of the most talented people I have ever had the pleasure to spend time with. He goes by the name Doctor Popular or shortened Doc Pop and you can find him all over the internet. I won’t give away his real name ;)

I had such a great time today. Sometimes, just the mere presence of someone you love is enough when your going through mess in your life. They don’t have to say anything, or really plan anything to get your mind off your crap. Just the fact that they are there is enough. Doc, you are the best. Words on a blog page cannot begin to express what you mean in my life and how your brighten my day when I do get the chance to be around you!

I just thought I was boring or something, :) But I trudge on, hoping for change. Ok Obama, where’s my change!!!!
