Worship in Spirit AND Truth

John 1:17 – For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.
I love it when scripture smacks me and wakes me up. Just the other day I was reading John 1 where it says that Jesus is truth. My mind focused on the scripture where Jesus tells the woman at the well the day has come that people will worship the true God in spirit and truth.
John 4:23-24 “But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
He was claiming not only do we need the Holy Spirit to worship, we need Jesus.
The Spirit brings POWER.
Jesus brings TRUTH.
We need BOTH.
To worship in power through lies would be an atrocity. To worship in truth with no power would be disastrous.
