7.1.12 Worship Rewind

  • Blessed Be Your Name – Matt Redman
  • Grace Like Rain – Todd Agnew
  • Healer – Hillsong
  • Help Me To Want You – Todd Fields

It’s stinkin hot. It’s so hot outside that you can’t get the AC to cool the house enough to be at a comfortable level. With that said, leading worship today reminded me of being on the stage with hot lights and cranking out a twelve song set and rockin the faces off thousands of people. Well more like tens of people, lol.

So needless to say I’m stinky sweaty but I wouldn’t have t any other way leading worship. Today we had a great set. I still have a hard time starting a service off without a bang and more of a slower start. It’s weird but a good change from the “balls-to-the-wall” sound of loud guitars and banging drums.

There were no big hangups and everything sounded good. I challenged our piano player (Heather) a little with playing some piano during a song and she played amazing. Kept the piano moving and not just sitting still. She’s learning so good. Had a couple of spots where me and the bass player (Tony) learned how to tighten up on a few moving notes. Also gave our BGV (Jace) opportunity to lead on that song. It would seem our team is growing and learning. This is always good.So this set brought us some great learning experience.

We also played a new song – Healer. Heard a lot of good comments. Folks really liked this song. I like it when I get good feedback.

I’m glad that God knows not what a drought of grace is and floods us full of it. I would hate to see if God turned off the spout and created a drought of grace. We can have a drought of rain. The country survived once during the thirties in the Dust Bowl. But a drought of Grace, now that I can’t survive!
