Comparing Ourselves To Human Leaders
July 10, 2012 1 Comment
1 Corinthians 3:21-23 NIV So then, no more boasting about human leaders! All things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.
Do you get jealous because other leaders are smarter than you, see things clearer than you, seem to be wiser than you? I do! I’ll be the first to admit, I wish I knew half of what my pastor has forgotten. But then again, that would be comparing myself to my pastor. It’s about time, if your like me, to quit comparing yourself to others and start being who God created you to be.
You’re you!
Study to show yourself approved. Work out your own salvation! You know what I’m talking about. I’m in that boat so this message is for the one rowing too. Our individuality is what makes the world around us creative. It’s ok to see the good in others and desire it but when we start condemning ourselves saying we’ll never be that smart or that disciplined or that wise, then we start falling down the worm hole of withdrawal.
You’ll claim you can’t do this or that.
You can’t pray in public.
You can’t help a ministry.
You can’t give your testimony.
You can’t serve in the local church.
You can’t help those in need.
You can’t…
When you and I learn that we CAN and must through the power of the Holy Spirit then God’s Kingdom will begin to grow. What we can’t do is let Satan talk us in to self-condemnation. Jesus said we can do ALL things through Him. Comparing ourselves to others is unhealthy to us and damaging to the Kingdom of God.
You are of Christ and Christ is of God. That mean… YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
