Bill Nye Tells Us Not To Teach Our Children Creationism

I was once posed a question by a very smart person. He asked me if I believed in evolution. I said no, I didn’t. He told me he did. I went to church with this guy and suddenly I was catapulted into different feelings toward him.

He explained that there is micro and macro evolution. After he spent thirty minutes with me differentiating between the two, I decided he was right. Although I don’t believe in evolution per se, I began to feel that maybe there is such thing as microevolution, simply a change in gene frequency within a population. In other words microevolution would be a sense of changing to adapt to a surroundings over time.

Do I believe in macroevolution such as one species to another which is exemplified from a monkey to a human? NO!

However I’m not a scientist and haven’t spent my life to studying evolution and bottom line, believing in creation or evolution has no bearing on my salvation and belief in Christ. So regardless, I still expect to spend eternity in Heaven due to my faith and confession.

Bill Nye says in a Fox News report as well as the video to follow that if we believe in creationism then we are left to live in a world that is “fantastically complicated.” These are the words of someone who has to believe in himself knowing everything. Without this knowledge, he is spiraling into a world that has no structure. Granted I understand that believing in a God we can’t see is quite remarkable but believing in a theory that has missing links and has yet to be proven is quite remarkable as well.

I do like that he says if we want to “deny evolution and live in your world that’s completely inconsistent with everything we observe in the universe, that’s fine…” However I don’t agree that he says, “…but don’t make your kids do it.”

So I’m supposed to let Bill Nye raise my kids on beliefs that’s inconsistent with mine? I’m sorry Mr. Nye. You wouldn’t let me raise your kids with my beliefs so why in the world (that was created by God) would I let you raise mine? As if kids can make their own decisions. I have one verse for you Bill Nye;

Proverbs 22:6 – Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.
